Bringing knowledge closer to the academic world and the public.

JUNE 17, 2026

Within the framework of the ECTS (European Calcified Tissues Society) International Congress held at the Palau de Congressos in Girona from 24 to 27 April, three legacy actions were carried out for the public, as a pilot project within the impact and legacy program of professional events in Catalonia with the aim of bringing knowledge closer to the public and the academic world.

These actions consisted of:

The transfer of a selection of posters from the ECTS congress to the EUSES university, prepared by various research groups at the congress, were made available to students to expand their knowledge and promote research in the academic field.

A talk open to the public was also held with the title: "When bones talk: How to prevent menopausal osteoporosis", given by Dr. Patrícia Reyner, head of the Rheumatology Service at the Josep Trueta University Hospital in Girona.

Finally, a Leonardo Mecàgraf test was carried out as part of the congress, open to the public. This is a tool to assess the state of muscle strength, balance and movement capacity.
