Foyer of the Municipal Theatre

This classic space is where the audience met during the intermissions. The foyer is on the first floor of Girona’s Municipal Theatre. Access to the theatre is through the City Hall, which is in the heart of the city’s Historic Quarter.

    Courtyard of the Jewish History Museum

    The courtyard of the Bonastruc ça Porta Centre, featuring an embedded Star of David, is one of the city’s most emblematic spots – a place filled with history and symbolism that evokes the past and inspires calm reflection. It is located in the heart of the city’s Historic Quarter, in the Call or Old Jewish Quarter, which is in Carrer de la Força just a few metres from the Cathedral.

  • Casa Masó

    Family home of architect Rafael Masó Valentí (1880-1935), this is one of the most important examples of his Noucentist work. The house retains its period furniture and decoration, dating from between 1911 and 1918, and offers spectacular views of the city. Visitors can also see original work on display by Masó and a collection of drawings by Goya and other 18th to 20th-century artists.

  • Banys Àrabs

    The Arab Baths were built in the Romanesque style in 1194, with a structure that resembles the layout of traditional Muslim baths. After becoming publicly owned in 1929, the building was restored and is nowadays a popular tourist attraction open to the public and also a unique venue for holding special events. The baths are located in the city’s Historic Quarter, close to the Cathedral and the old city walls.

    Cinema Museum

    With a permanent exhibition space of 1,500 m2 displaying objects from the pre-cinema era and the early days of cinema, such as the magic lantern, the camera obscura and the Lumière brothers’ cinematograph, the museum boasts one of the most important collections in Europe and offers very special spaces for holding unique events.

  • Centre Cultural La Mercè

    This former convent built in the 14th century was later used as a military hospital in the 19th and part of the 20th centuries. Since 1984 it has been home to a multidisciplinary cultural centre providing activities related with art, the performing arts and the humanities. La Mercè Cultural Centre is located at the heart of the city’s Historic Quarter, very close to the City Hall and Plaça Catalunya.
